New Year Resolutions

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language and next year’s words await another voice!” – T.S. Eliot

December is the time of the year when everyone is thinking about New Year that is around the corner. Every year that passes by has people, habits, memories etc. (sometimes pandemics) that we want to get rid of. Which is a very wise decision because everything that is not kind to us, we should try and get rid of it.

Starting anew is always very refreshing. It gives this feeling to the person that they are worthy of doing well and deserving the best. Picking up small habits which are beneficial to our mental and physical health is very important. Life is a process of continuous progress and it is only right that we too forget about the year that has already gone by and PREPARE FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL NEW YEAR’S EVE! 🙂

Celebrate the New Year’s Eve

First of all, ending the year on a good note is very important. This would help you carry positive vibes to the next one. Therefore, be a part of the celebrations of New Year’s Eve in the best way possible. Spend time with your family and friends. Attend limited parties and spend some time alone to relax before you jump into the hustle again.

Eat healthy

Another very important habit to pick up is that start eating healthy. Pizza parties once in a while are alright but in return you should add some vegetables to your meals. Drink more water. Avoid fast foods as much as you can. Cut down on the alcohol intake. Slowly you can achieve good eating habits.

Get out of that toxic relationship

Trust me! This is one of the most important decisions that need to be taken. Throw all those toxic people out of your life. Be it your partner or your friends; people who do not love you for who you are, who do not appreciate you, your hard work and your struggles; to these people you must say your goodbyes ASAP! It will make your life so much easier. THANK ME LATER!

Work out regularly

We all know that we have been slacking off in this past year when it came to working out! Working out an hour daily can really help you keep in shape as well as healthy. If you do not like going to the gym or doing aggressive exercise, you can also make habit of a morning walk or do some jogging.

Do a job that makes you happy

Mental health is as important as your physical health! This year let us make peace of mind our utmost priority. You do not have to work at a place where you were not comfortable working because the boss was impolite, they did not pay well, you were being sexually or emotionally harassed etc., you do not belong to a place like this and there are plenty of jobs in the market! You just need to tell that to yourself. You can do it! Because the job for which you are putting your mental and physical health at stake, can replace you within seconds. So make smart choices!

Spend quality time with family

Make this a goal for every year to come. As much as we are busy in our lives, we must take out time to spend with our family. As we are growing old our parents are getting older. They need us even more now but they would not say it themselves. This New Year ask your partner, your parents and your siblings to go out on a dinner date together!

Go on a road trip with friends

Friends are the only people in this world who can bring out the real craziness in you. Good friends have seen the real you and they appreciate all of it. These people will never judge you for anything at all and they will always be ready to go and have some fun. If you have people like this in your life then what are you waiting for? Go on a road trip after every few months.

Love yourself

This New Year let us make a promise to ourselves! That we will accept our flaws and we will love ourselves for who we are because how can we expect others to accept us when we ourselves can’t do that? So let this sink in that there is no such thing as a perfect human being! Humans are flawed and that’s beautiful. Confidence is the best attire one can wear. So be confident and show yourself some love. You’re perfect! YOU GOT THIS! 🙂

Quit smoking

This resolution might be one of the toughest ones to practice for the people who smoke regularly. Smoking is very hazardous to health and is very easily adaptable. It is very addictive at the same time but every addiction can be gotten rid of by consistency. Quitting it will save you from so many health problems in the longer run so this year, DROP THOSE CIGARETTES!

Set a monthly budget

This practice will save you from so much stress so you must include it in your New Year practices. By making a monthly budget you know exactly what you have to buy, how much will it cost and where will you buy it from. Making a budget defines the boundaries for you and tells you that this is what you have and this is what you have to buy in this budget you can spare.

Follow your skincare routine

NEVER GO TO BED WITH YOUR MAKEUP ON, PEOPLE! Our skin renews at night and this is the only reason we should never have our face covered when we go to bed. However tired you are, make a habit of removing your makeup before you go to bed. This way you will be safe from skin problems like acne, hyperpigmentation and aging etc.

This one that I am going to talk about in the end, you must follow for this year and all those years to come. Learn to give yourself some time and space. Do not be so hard on yourself. You are doing the best you can like you always do. Now sit back and wait for how beautifully life turns things around for you. Try and follow the above mentioned New Year resolutions, show yourself some love and appreciation, be kind to yourself and most importantly BREATHE! 🙂
